Operator Certification: Renewals and CEUs
Don't wait until December to find out if you need more CEUs to renew your operator certificate(s)! You can check your operator record online. Go to the Certified Operator Database, choose Operator Search, and search for your name. On the Operator Information page it will show if you have met the CEU renewal requirements.
To find out the specific number of CEUs you have toward renewal you will need your PIN to access your private record. If you do not know your PIN, please contact the Operator Certification Program at (907) 465-5042 or (907) 465-5140.
A list of approved correspondence/online courses is available online. If your certificate expires 12/31/09, you must have earned your CEUs between 1/1/07 and 12/31/09.
Drinking Water Watch
The DEC Drinking Water Program has developed a tool whereby owners, operators, and consumers can access specific information about a water system. The program is called Drinking Water Watch and can be queried for sampling information, monitoring summaries, violation information, water systems contact, and general information. To find information on your system, visit the Drinking Water Watch web site. This site is very important to the PWS operator and system owner for understanding their PWS status and current and future drinking water sampling and reporting. Operators should familiarize themselves with this site and the PWS they are working with. Be sure to explore all the screens and understand how the information applies to your system and to check the data record for accuracy.
