Terilyn Hamilton, Bob Ellis Business Excellence Award
Terilyn Hamilton has been working as an independent e-tailer selling products on eBay while earning an AAS in Business Administration in 2009 and BBA in 2013.
Teri gained expertise in selling jewelry, gift, and souvenir lines as manager and then co-owner of a large family operated gift shop and wholesale souvenir manufacturing business prior to her college adventure.
During her twenty-three years in the gift shop industry Teri was an officer, board member, and/or volunteer of the Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce, Rotary 2000, Ketchikan Visitor’s Bureau, Pioneers of Alaska, and the Ketchikan Dive Club. She most recently joined a Red Hat Society Club for fun and social interaction.
Now that she has achieved her first two educational goals Teri plans to continue living and working in Ketchikan. Teri and her husband Bill are avid NFL fans and enjoy traveling to games, taking vacations to Hawaii, caring for their two cats, listening to country music, and spending time with family and friends. Teri’s guilty pleasures are reading mystery novels and watching sci-fi shows.
Selling gifts and Alaska souvenirs on eBay will likely become more of a hobby than a livelihood this summer as she begins a seasonal job with Alaska Airlines after graduation.
