Captain Hastings has taught as an adjunct at UAS Ketchikan for over 15 years. His corporate knowledge and wealth of experience in a variety of teaching situations is invaluable to the marine transportation department.
Captain Hastings is retired from the Alaska Marine Highway System after spending 38 years at sea, where he worked as Bosun for over 10 years. His depth of maritime knowledge and experience is a huge asset to the Marine Transportation Department. Captain Hastings has most recently been employed as master for Allen Marine Tours, operating the 78 foot catamaran, St. Nona, which is licensed to carry up to 150 passengers. On a personal note, Captain Hastings loves to travel and is a big fan of the Chicago Bears.
