Biography

An international physician who graduated from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, and practiced Medicine for almost 14 years in Egypt and Nigeria. He received his second MD certificate in the United States in 2001, practiced as visiting doctor and an intern for a year before starting his Postdoctoral fellowship in Infectious Diseases at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. During that time he participated in several research papers that were published in scientific journals, for which he was grateful. He moved on to working with pharmaceutical companies in clinical research for a couple of years before settling with teaching medical and healthcare sciences. He is also a certified Allied Health Instructor and has chaired a Medical Assisting program for a year in Wilmington, NC before moving to Sitka, Alaska to join the University of Alaska Southeast faculty.

He received an outstanding Faculty award for 2015 for Sitka campus, and was selected under BLaST Alaska program as the scientist of the month in March 2017 for innovative lab research work. In 2021, He was promoted to an Associate professor of Biology.
