Through the generous donations of the Ravenstail Weaving
guild, the Selina Peratrovich Memorial Endowment for Native Arts provides
funding to assist students in taking any of Northwest Coast Art courses at the
University of Alaska Southeast. Award amount: Varies- can assist UP TO tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Applicants must submit the completed scholarship application form,
listing the courses they plan to take and the estimated cost of tuition, fees
and required supplies.Course specific
information, detailing the tuition and fees associated with each class, is available
on the online semester schedule. Students
may also call the UAS Registration Office at 796-6100 for information.
As a general
guideline, UAS tuition for the 10-11 school year (Fall 2010, Spring 2011 and
Summer 2011) is $147/credit for courses that are within the 100-200 range and
$170/credit for courses that are within the 300-400 range, and for the 11-12
school year (Fall 2011, Spring 2012, and Summer 2012,) is $154/credit for
courses that are within the 100-200 range and $187/credit for courses that are
within the 300-400 range. During the
summer term, students are charged an additional per credit course fee. Many classes have additional fees, and also
require that students purchase supplies and books.
Most sources of financial aid require that students be
admitted to a degree program, and be enrolled in at least 6 credits.
In addition to the Selina Peratrovich Memorial
Scholarship, some Native associations have funds available for less than
half-time students who are not pursuing a degree program. Information on possible Native funding
