Checkout Laptops
We have 7 student laptops available for checkout. Laptops can be checked out by students overnight and by faculty for in class events. Since laptops are in such demand, a laptop can only be checked out for 24 hours and is due back by 6:00 P.M. the next day. Advanced reservations are encouraged, but we can only reserve one laptop per student at a time. If a reserved laptop is not picked up by 3:00 pm, it will be put back into service for immediate check out. If you need to pick up a laptop after 3:00 pm, please have the computer consultant document the pick up time in the reservation notes.
Faculty can make as many laptop reservations as needed for in-class events. To reserve a laptop, contact the lab supervisor at 796-6116 or by email to diana.collins@uas.alaska.edu.
Our current inventory includes Dell D620 and Vostro laptops. They have the current academic software installed. All laptops are checked out with its own bag, power cord, and one battery (not all batteries are charged due to lack of space). All laptops come with CD-ROM drives.
Students experiencing an emergency or are otherwise not able to come to the computer lab to work can make other arrangements for a laptop through the lab supervisor.
