Interested in starting a maritime or industrial career?  We have the course for you!

Maritime & Multi-Skilled Worker is a new course preparing students for high-paying jobs and the challenge of skilled repair work in marine engineering departments, ship building and repair, heavy industrial machine repair, construction, and a variety of physical plant operations, such as seafood processing.  Course time will include both classroom and practical exercise to allow for ample hands-on experience with engines, electricity, welding, refrigeration, hydraulics, rigging, and firefighting plus other skills valuable to shipyards, seafood processor plants, and other industries.

Our comprehensive course will fully prepare the student to take the USCG exam for a Qualified Member of the Engine Department with Oiler and Fireman/Water Tender endorsements. With the completion of engine department sea time, and a written USCG examination, students will meet the requirements for a rating as Qualified Member of the Engine Department (QMED) with Fireman/Water Tender and Oiler endorsements.  Candidates must also meet physical, drug test, and other USCG requirements prior to gaining sea time aboard a vessel.

The UAS Maritime & Multi Skilled Worker Class is a United States Coast Guard approved class. This approval has significant advantages for seafarers seeking to upgrade their skills and credentials and for those seeking entry into the maritime field.
Successful completion of the M&MSW class will allow a reduction in required sea service days from 180 to 90. Upon presentation of the required sea time at the Regional Exam Center, the USCG will issue the QMED/Oiler rating credential without any further testing.
