Registering for Classes

Step 1 - Update your admission if needed

If you are planning on graduating with a college degree you will need to apply for admission if you haven't already. Our friendly advisors will assist you through the process.

Step 2 - Decide what classes to take

Review the UAS Class Schedule or see all University of Alaska courses at UAOnline.

Step 3 - Register for classes

Most students (lifelong learners, degree seeking students, and senior citizens) register for classes by logging in to UAOnline.  You can also fax a paper registration form to (907)225-3624.

Senior citizens who plan to use the Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver must wait to register until the day the class starts.

High school students are welcome to take college classes! To register, they must complete a Dual Enrollment & Underage Student Registration form and meet with an advisor for assistance in getting the required instructor approval.

Step 4 - Pay for your class

To retain registration students must submit one of the following before the payment deadline:

1) a completed financial aid package (including all required supporting paperwork),
2) personal payment, (call us at 228-4530 or 1-888-550-6177 in AK) or pay in UAOnline,
3) an account with Tuition Management Systems or
4) a letter of authorization from an agency.

View UAS Tuition & Fees here.  Note UAS Ketchikan does NOT charge out of state tuition.

Step 5 - Order your books

Go to MBS or UASOnline to see required books for UAS courses.  Order books through MBS or your preferred provider.  Students with a completed financial aid package can request a voucher to charge their books to financial aid.

Step 6 - Be aware of registration status and deadlines

Be aware of your registration status and visit the academic calendar for important deadline information, including refund and drop or withdraw deadlines.

Contact an advisor if you need assistance.
