Get a taste of the University of Alaska Southeast!

You are invited to join “Explore Southeast: A Super Awesome Weekend” in Juneau, Alaska! The University of Alaska Southeast will host this program for new incoming students on Friday and Saturday, April 6-7. UAS will provide housing in the Freshman Residence Hall as well as all meals. You will tour campus, meet other new students and learn about scholarship programs like the Alaska Leadership Initiative, organizations like Student Government, and clubs such as Hiking, Gaming, and Sustainability.

Academic Advisors, and representatives from Financial Aid, Career Services, and the Study Away office will be present on Saturday to lead discussions and answer questions.



Friday: Arrival

Students will travel to Juneau.  UAS staff will be there to meet you at the airport.

Friday: Events

Some planned student activities include:

  • Downtown Juneau Exploration
  • Welcome dinner
  • Bonfire


  • Hike to the Mendenhall Glacier
  • Explore your options with advisors
  • Tour campus, labs, housing, and more!
  • Experience student life with current students and professors
  • Meet with representatives from Financial Aid
  • Event at UAS Recreation Center


Students travel home.
