Most circulating books may be checked out for 28 days. Media items (DVDS, Videos, CDs) may be checked out for seven days and equipment items (laptops, graphing calculators, Nooks and more) vary from 2 hours to 14 days. UAS faculty members have an extended loan period of 120 days for Egan Library circulating books. Items may be borrowed from any library in the Joint Library Consortium (JLC, see list below) and may be returned to any participating library regardless of where the item was borrowed.
Materials may be renewed a total of two times. For books, this means two additional 28-day periods and for videos, two additional seven-day periods. Materials must be brought back to the library for the second renewal. Items may not be renewed if another borrower has requested them.
A total of 40 items may be checked out from the JLC libraries at one time. Only 10 media items may be checked out at one time.
All users are responsible for returning materials undamaged by the due date. Users in Juneau or Southcentral Alaska may return materials to any CCL/JLC Library, as our delivery system will return items to the appropriate library. E-learning students are responsible for sending materials undamaged by the due date either to a participating JLC Library or through the U.S. Postal service to:Egan Library Circulation Desk
