NOTICE: The new ILL service is now live.  Go ahead and kick the tires (library staff are doing the same thing) and don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or if you encounter snags, duplicate email notices, etc.  Thanks for your patience. UAS users may now resume placing ILL requests.  User accounts with request activity were migrated, however inactive users will be required to complete a short registration form the first time they login.

Interlibrary Loan Policies

Egan Library uses an online system for requesting and tracking user requests for books, articles, and other information resources when these resources aren't available in the collections of the Egan Library or ALC Libraries.   Users can search the world's libraries and place requests using Worldcat Discovery, or by following ILL links in databases and Full-Text Finder.  Users may login to manage and check the status of their interlibrary loan (ILL) requests.

  • First time users will need to complete a short registration form.
  • Login to your ILL account using your UA username and password.
  • Interlibrary loan items accrue overdue fines at $.50 (fifty cents) per day, per overdue item.
  • The maximum fine per item is $10.00
  • Renewal requests for ILL items must be submitted via this ILL system (not the general circulation system) or by contacting the ILL Office (contact info at bottom of page).
  • Reasonable limits pertain to ILL items checked out (books/dvds/cds) and active ILL requests. Electronically delivered materials (journal articles, book chapters) do not count as checked out items. Active Request Limits as follows, undergraduate=5, graduate students & staff=10, faculty and distance students=15.  Exceptions to limits may be accomodated upon request.
  • ILL staff are available M-F.  Some ILL related issues can can only be addressed when ILL staff are available.
  • Having trouble logging in? Get connection help at the UAS IT Accounts site.

About Interlibrary Loan

Through a network connecting the Egan Library with libraries nationwide as well as abroad, library patrons are able to get materials in varied formats for research and recreational purposes.  The Egan Library’s ILL Service is guided by the National Interlibrary Loan Code of the U.S. (American Library Association) and abides by copyright laws.  We encourage patrons to use this service in a responsible way; exploring local resources first and then abiding by the Egan Library’s ILL policies as well as those of the lending library.  See the ILL FAQ page for further information.
