Be sure to get your application for graduation in before the posted deadlines in order to meet
graduation requirements.
Sitka will host a live commencement ceremony this year. We will be reading the names of students
in attendance who completed in Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and candidates for Spring 2024.
If you plan on walking please register yourself and your guests for the event at Eventbrite.
The live ceremony will be on May 3, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Centennial Hall. Graduates arrive by 6:00
for instructions and the Graduation lineup.
There will be a reception following the ceremony.
Participating in commencement does not guarantee completion of your degree. All degree
requirements must be met to receive your degree. Please work with the registrar's
office for degree completion.
Are you unable to walk in the ceremony, but want your photo in the slideshow? Contact John
Ingman at jfingmanjr@alaska.edu to have your picture included in the ceremony.
This is a mask-optional event.
Caps and gowns can be ordered on the UAS Jostens website. Shipping delays are common so
order now with the deadline for ordering no later than April 1, 2024.
Diploma Information
Diplomas will be printed after final grades are processed and we have certified that your requirements are complete (approximately 4 weeks after the end of the semester). Students will have their diplomas mailed to the address provided on their graduation application.
Diploma Frames
We have collaborated with Church Hill Classics to provide graduates the option to order a custom frame for their diploma.
