World of Work Job & Career Fair in Sitka

This year, representatives of about 40 companies, agencies and organizations were on hand for the WOW Fair.

Louise Driver explains and provides information about available scholarshipsThe fourth annual World of Work Job and Career Fair took place at the Centennial Hall in Sitka, Alaska February 11 and 12th. Designed primarily to help local high school students better understand the job market, the World of Work (or WOW) fair attracts employers from around the State of Alaska. The job fair was also open to the public. This year, representatives of about 40 companies, agencies and organizations were on hand for the WOW Fair. A popular choice this year was Hot Jobs in Health Care for Alaska. The UAS Sitka Campus manned two booths. Cheryl Stromme promoted classes in Health Sciences, Bob Love sponsored RRANN (Recruitment and Retention of Alaska Natives into Nursing), and Louise Driver focused on Admissions and Advising. Elizabeth Williams and Barbara Burnett represented UAS Juneau Campus at the fair.
