Lisa Hoferkamp travels to Washington, DC, February 23-26 to attend the Council on Undergraduate Research Dialogues.
Jenifer Vernon travels to the Western States Communication Association Conference, in Albuquerque, NM, February 17-21. She will present “How Open is the Open-Mic? Practicing Poetry and Rehearsing an Urban Polis Yet to Be.” Vernon’s paper was selected for the "top paper panel," of the Performance Studies division of the Conference.
John Radzilowski organized and chaired a session at the American Historical Association (AHA) annual meeting in Chicago in January 2012 titled “Anti-Communism in Transnational Perspective.” In a separate session at the same meeting, he delivered a paper on immigrant Catholic parishes as institutions that helped to mitigate high levels of personal and communal disorder in the lives of first-generation Polish immigrants.
Sarah Jaquette Ray was invited to speak at University of California-Davis for their Environment and Societies Winter Colloquium Series on February 8, 2012. She will be presenting the introduction to her book manuscript, The Ecological Other: Bodies, Nature, and Exclusion.
