Juneau Icefield Research Program 2012 Season Report
Students have contributed to measurements of Taku Glacier terminus advance since 2008.
Fifteen students from around the country enrolled in ENVS 193 and ENVS 493 courses and completed their 8 week program with a public presentation of their research at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center on Friday evening August 17.
Students contributed to measurements of Taku Glacier terminus advance since 2008, snow pack mass balance and layer dynamics with ground penetrating radar, and water isotope distribution with geography as a proxy for temperature of air mass amongst other research topics. Five students received financial support from an Alaska Space Grant Program Higher Education grant to Cathy Connor.
