Exchanges & Study Abroad
Academic advising is an interactive partnership between you and professional staff and faculty that supports your educational experience. Advisors support student learning by teaching skills through which students develop knowledge and values that empower them to reach their academic and life goals. Academic Advising is offered in Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka.
Career Services has a wealth of resources to help you get the most out of your college experience and beyond. Career Advising is a regional service.

At the University of Alaska Southeast, providing equal opportunities for students who experience disabilities is a campus wide responsibility and commitment. We work together with faculty and students to identify individual needs and how to best accommodate those needs.
Personal counseling provides a safe environment where people can share their thoughts and feelings, explore concerns, gain new awareness and find positive new ways of looking at a situation. The UAS Counselors are located on the Juneau campus, but can meet with all students regardless of their location. Skype and phone appointments available.
Dining options are located only on the Juneau campus. The Cafeteria is located in the upper level Mourant Building. Spike’s Café is located just outside the Library in the Egan Classroom Wing and the Bear Pantry is located in the Housing Lodge.
The Charles Gamble Jr. and Donald Sperl Joint Use Facility, otherwise known as the Recreation Center, located on the Juneau campus, offers a wide range of activities and membership options. This facility is shared with the Army National Guard.

The NRSC, located on the Juneau campus provides quality support services to Native and Rural students to promote their academic achievement, student retention, and personal success. The NRSC Coordinator serves as a regional resource to all UAS campuses.

Information Technology supports a wide range of services for all three campuses at UAS.
UAS has Testing and Learning Centers in Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka that all offer placement testing, tutoring, proctoring and many other services.

Each year, hundreds of students come to the Juneau Campus Learning Center to both to consult tutors on homework questions and to team up with other students facing the same challenges as themselves.
Located on the second floor of the Ziegler Building, the Learning Center provides numerous academic support services for UAS Ketchikan students. The support provided includes testing services, tutoring services, faxing, course resources, as well as a place to study. Most services are free to UAS students.
Sitka has put their testing and learning services in their Student Success Department.
The staff at Student Health Center on the Juneau campus recognizes the critically important role that vitality and health play in gaining lifelong happiness and success. Health Center services are available to UA students living in Juneau. See membership information for details. Fees apply.
