UAS Faculty & Staff: Great Colleges to Work For Survey--sharing the results!

Hello Everyone,

The semester is flying by! I can't believe that it is nearly Fall Break time!

Recently, I found out that UAS has participated in the Great Colleges to Work For Survey for the past 3 years. I was also able to learn the results of the most recent survey and discuss those results and the past results with the executive leadership team (Maren Haavig, Lori Klein, Jon Lasinski, & Ronalda Cadiente Brown) as well as with our Director of Institutional Effectiveness (Kristen Handley). I'd like to share the results with all of you and discuss the areas in which we are doing well as an institution and the areas in which we have challenges and opportunities, now that we have 3 years of data. It is very important to me and to our executive leadership team that UAS is a fulfilling place to work. So, in addition to discussing the results with all of you, I am interested in hearing your thoughts on how to move forward to make UAS an even better place to work. On December 8 from 9-10 am we will hold a town hall during which we can begin our conversation. Please look out for an invitation to the town hall in the next few days. Please note that the town hall will be recorded for those of you who are unable to make it at the time it is scheduled.

I also want to alert you to an additional initiative from the UA System to gather data on employee satisfaction and well-being. This month, you will be receiving an invitation from HR to participate in a survey across the UA System. The system HR leadership is very interested in gathering some baseline data this year as part of their goal to improve the work environment across the system in the next few years. They are not using the Great Colleges to Work For tool; their survey has been crafted by the system HR leadership in collaboration with Qualtrics. Please look out for that UA system email as well!

Thank you for your patience with me as I bring this forward to you. The executive leadership team and I are excited to share the results, listen to all of you, and collaborate with you to create an environment in which we can all flourish, professionally and personally!

Cheers,
Dr. Aparna Palmer
