Biography
Dr. Brown is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management. She teaches courses that are core to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree, as well as classes specific to the emphasis areas in Management and Human Resource Management.
Before pursuing a career in academia, Dr. Brown held various management and executive HR positions with leveraged expertise in strategic planning, corporate culture, change management, and leadership development. Her experiences span a variety of industries and former employers include Enron, Devon Energy, Backcountry.com, and Continental Airlines. Additionally, she currently provides management and HR consulting services to the Juneau Economic Development Council (JEDC).
Dr. Brown holds a PhD in Applied Social Psychology and a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. She has pursued professional development training as a neutral arbitrator with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services. She has also been a management advocate and a union advocate in the past.
