Around 2:00 PM, the VMware server began failing to connect. Users encountered "Error: HTTP error 500". Technicians resolved the issue as of 10:00 PM.

This week technicians will be updating switch software throughout the night, starting at 6PM each night. Maintenance will not be occurring during the day. Network outages will be intermittent (15-45 minute intervals) in buildings receiving maintenance. During the outage window all network traffic will be affected in the building including WiFi, phones, and computer. On December 28th at 1:00 PM, OIT technicians will be upgrading Networking Gear in our Data Center. The outage should take roughly 15 minutes. All the Internet will be affected: data, phones, and wifi.

We are encountering ongoing power issues on the Juneau campus following the extended power outage this morning. As a result, we have been losing power for our core IT equipment. Among other impacts, this caused regional IT systems to fail, including the regional phone system, the main UAS Web Site, and the academic and staff virtual desktops.

An upgrade was performed on the UAS Firewall the evening of Wednesday, September 18th. This maintenance window was from 8:35 PM to 10:35 PM. During this time, users expected 1 or 2 brief outages. These brief outages affected all traffic to/from the Juneau Campus, Sitka Campus, Ketchikan Campus, Juneau Budget Office and Lena Point.

At 10:55 AM on Tuesday the 30th, the UAS network and internet access was disrupted. Technicians noticed and responded immediately. The issue was resolved within 5 minutes of initial disruption.

At approximately 5:30PM, NDS received a report of wireless and partial VDI outages at the TEC. Further investigation confirmed that most ACS TLS circuit supplied sites were experiencing network connectivity issues. NDS staff worked with OIT network engineering to resolve the issue by 8:30PM.
