Mission

The primary mission of the UAS Ketchikan Library is to provide UAS students and faculty, without regard to their geographic location, with a full range of library services and resources. The library supports the instructional programs of the University and strives to meet the information and research needs of the Ketchikan community. The library offers access to high quality resources, services and gateways to information.

Location

The Campus Library is located on the second floor of the Ziegler Building at 2600 Seventh Avenue on the main UAS Ketchikan campus in Ketchikan, Alaska.  There is an elevator from the first floor of the building, and the Library is ADA accessible.

Hours

The UAS Ketchikan Campus Library’s physical facility is currently closed in order to comply with government COVID-19 mandates.

However, library staff are still working and eager to provide the help you need.

In certain circumstances, books can be requested in advance for curbside pickup. Additionally, library staff are available for research, database, and e-collections assistance by phone, email, and one-on-one Zoom conferencing. Although we strive for same-day response, emails and voicemails might not be returned until the next business day. We are, however, happy to provide database and research help during the evening, night, and weekends by appointment, but do not wait until right before your assignment is due to contact us. Call 907-228-4567 to leave a voicemail, or email ketchikan.library@alaska.edu to make contact. If the matter is urgent, you may call or text Michelle at 907-220-7442 any day of the week, between the hours of 7am and 11pm.

As always, our online library resources, including databases and electronic book collections, are available 24/7.
