Occupational Endorsement Transcripting Process

NOTE: This process is an abbreviated format for occupational endorsements that will allow for an efficient review. More importantly, the approval will provide the department with up-to-date information about which aspects of the request can be expected to receive particular attention at the final higher levels of review. Submit the request with the following information: (Please number pages.)

Submit the request along with Category A Curriculum Committee forms according to the Category A flowchart in the Curriculum Guide.

A.     Name of person preparing and list faculty resources to this endorsement.

B.      Brief statement of the proposed endorsement, its objectives, and career opportunities. It is essential that the objectives of the endorsement be clearly identified so that the activity may be evaluated in terms of how successfully it fulfills its stated objectives.

C.      Provision for approval signatures of:  

  • Department Head
  • Dean
  • President, Faculty Senate  
  • Curriculum Committee Chair
  • Provost (delegated by President and Chancellor)

  2. Admissions requirements and prerequisites         
  3. Requirements for the endorsement         
  4. Course descriptions of required and recommended elective courses.

  1. Brief identification of objectives and subsequent means for their evaluation         
  2. Relationship of endorsement objectives to "Purposes of the University"         
  3. Occupational/other competencies to be achieved

G.      Outcomes Assessment Plan

  1. Demonstration of skill/knowledge
  2. % of completers who gain relevant employment or who are able to significantly increase (>15%) their post-training wage

H.       Program review will be completed within its “parent degree/certificate”
