Career Education
Career Education programs meet the short-term training needs and long-term vocational, technical, and occupational needs of the residents of Southeast Alaska. These programs provide specific job-related skills for employment, lifelong learning opportunities, and professional advancement that enable graduates to function effectively in a technology-dependent society.

Career Education Faculty Book Signing Event
On February 29, 2008 the UAS Bookstore hosted a Faculty Author Booksigning. Highlighted faculty author's include:
Automotive Program Head Tony Martin's featured book is Hybrid and Alternative Fuel Vehicles.
Computer Information & Office Systems faculty Rick McDonald's featured book is Network Fundamentals CCNA Exploration Companion Guide.
A variety of teaching methods are used, including distance delivery through audio, video, Internet and printed materials. Vocational-technical laboratories provide students with state-of-the-art equipment comparable to what would be encountered in industry.
