Pay for College with the CSPI Scholarship

Earn approx. $4,000/mo. as a full-time student and active-duty member of the U.S. Coast Guard. Up to 2 years of paid tuition and fees, housing allowance, and medical benefits. All this and a guaranteed job after graduation.

New Natural Sciences Building Opening Fall 2024

Áak'w Tá Hít is a center dedicated to scientific research and student learning. The new coastal facility houses the classrooms, laboratories, and field research operations necessary for scientists and students to address the complex environmental questions facing the planet.

On a remote Southeast Alaska island, a beacon for historic preservation

“Modern technology makes it a lot easier, using modern fasteners and things like that. But it’s a challenge,” said Jensen, who teaches construction and woodworking at University of Alaska Southeast. “The challenge (is) being able to create something that those people did a hundred years ago with minimal tools, yet with such precision.”

Three University of Alaska professors appointed as Arctic program leaders

At the University of Alaska Southeast, the Arctic professor is Erica Hill, an anthropology professor and archaeologist who served as program director for Arctic social science at the National Science Foundation.

The Arctic Leadership Initiative is intended to help develop future leaders, University of Alaska President Pat Pitney said in a statement.
