UAS Juneau to Hold 36th Commencement Ceremony, May 6
UAS will award 356 degrees for the 2006-07 academic year, and honor Dean and Edna Williams.

The University of Alaska Southeast will hold its 36th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 6th at 2 pm in the UAS Gamble-Sperl Recreation Center on the Auke Lake Campus. UAS will award 356 degrees for the 2006-07 academic year, 264 undergraduate and 92 graduate degrees. Approximately, 100 graduates are expected to attend the ceremony, with an additional 32 UAS graduates receiving their diplomas at other University of Alaska commencement ceremonies.
UAS will honor Dean and Edna Williams with the Meritorious Service Award for their work in advancing tourism, aviation and recreation in Juneau and for their dedication to community service (Bios attached).
Dr. Rosita Worl will present the commencement address. Dr. Worl is the President of the Sealaska Heritage Institute, Vice Chair of the Sealaska Corporation, a member of the Alaska Federation of Natives board, and an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Alaska Southeast.
