Egan Library joins libraries nationwide to show the PBS series “American Experience: We Shall Remain"

Monday nights from April 13 through May 11, the Egan Library joins libraries nationwide to show the PBS series “American Experience: We Shall Remain." Taped discussion May 18.
“You can’t understand America in the 21st century if you don’t understand the Native experience,” said Sharon Grimberg, series executive producer. The five-part series portrays different perspectives of Native peoples throughout America and their integral part in the shaping of the nation. The University of Alaska Southeast encourages participation from across the campus and Juneau community to watch this important series together. Broadcasts begin at 8pm and are followed by informal discussion.
May 18 at 8 p.m. a taped panel discussion about local issues brought up by the series is scheduled to be shown at the Egan Library. The production is by KTOO-TV.
