Juneau, Alaska

Date of Press Release: September 27, 2010

On October 5, 2010, Juneau voters will go to the polls to elect Assembly and School Board members. Voters will also be asked whether to change their form of government: "Shall there be a Charter Commission to review or amend the Charter?" Do we want to change the form of our Borough government? UAS Associate Professor of Public Administration and City and Borough of Juneau Assembly Member Dr. Jonathan Anderson will lead a discussion of how to achieve government “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” While federal and state governments are mostly similar, local governments come in a wide variety of shapes, form, and flavors. Join in this exploration of democracy on the UAS Auke Lake campus, Friday, Oct. 1 at the Egan Lecture Hall. All Evening at Egan lectures are available live via streaming video.
