The free workshops kick off this Saturday February 4 with an overview of how to prepare your marine cooling system for Spring. Subsequent workshops cover diesel maintenance for pick-up trucks, changing a door threshold and getting a building permit.

UAS Career Education is pleased to invite the public to celebrate Career and Technical education month by participating in FREE Saturday session "how to" workshops. The workshops kick off this Saturday February 4 with an overview of how to prepare your marine cooling system for Spring. Subsequent workshops cover diesel maintenance for pick-up trucks, changing a door threshold and getting a building permit. “We hope that providing these workshops will attract community members who may not otherwise know what we do in the downtown UAS buildings, the Technical Education Center and Bill Ray Center,” said Associate Dean of Career Education Robin Gilcrist. All workshops take place on Saturday afternoons 2-4 p.m. at the Technical Education Center downtown.
A separate presentation, Careers in Alaska’s Health Care Industry is set for Sat. Feb. 18, 10-11:30 a.m. at the Bill Ray Center downtown. Attendees will learn about demand for trained health care workers and UAS training programs to prepare workers for healthcare jobs in Alaska.
The School of Career Education is the hands-on educational branch of the University of Alaska Southeast.
