UAS Fall 2012 Course Openings

The Fall Semester at the University of Alaska Southeast is right around the corner. Classes start Thursday, August 30, 2012. The Schools of Art and Sciences, Management and Career Education have room for more students in a variety of classes.
The School of Arts and Sciences has course openings in Tlingit, print making, sculpture, media studies, geology, environmental economics, yoga, theater, fly fishing and various Outdoor Studies including pack rafting and scuba diving. Also this coming semester are special night classes that have not been offered in recent years in beginning drawing and painting and digital photo printing.
The School of Management has openings in several classes this fall. Business courses include Introduction to Management and Supervision, buyer behavior and international business. Learn how to write for the web or create websites with computer information courses like web scripting. There is also a Public Administration course on local and global sustainability.
The School of Career Education has class openings in construction design and planning, woodworking, cold climate construction, AutoCAD, diesel engines, applied marine hydraulics and CPR/First Aid. Night automotive courses this fall include Auto Electrical 1 and Suspension Alignment. Students can also get subsidized training to be a building, energy and retrofit technician. A Building, Energy, Retrofit Technician (BERT) Occupational Endorsement is being offered this fall. Students can qualify for payment of tuition and fees through a state grant.
