Community Day on Campus and First Year Residence Hall Dedication

Chancellor John Pugh invites the public to a dedication of the new Freshman Residence Hall just prior to the start of Community Day on Campus, Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Members of the Juneau legislative delegation, the UAS project manager, and Alaska Natïve representatives will speak, followed by a ribbon cutting.
An open house and tours of the hall, which opened as of the Fall 2014 semester, will be on-going starting at 11 a.m. on the UAS Auke Lake campus.
The annual Community Day on Campus will also include free kayak, paddle board, and boat rentals on Auke Lake and the second annual elementary school art exhibit and competition. The Juneau School District Elementary Art Show Student Recognition Ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. in the Egan Library.
Face painting, food booths, carnival games, bouncy house, DIPAC touch tank, storytime and more will be in the mix of this joint effort by Juneau Jazz and Classics, the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council, and UAS. Music by local youth and community groups will be performed in the Egan Library between 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
