Date of Press Release: June 1, 2017
Nathan Leigh has been appointed to replace Keith Gerken as Director of Facilities for the University of Alaska Southeast. Leigh’s responsibilities will include management of UAS facilities at the Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka campuses. Leigh came to UAS in the summer of 2013 as project manager for the construction phase of the John R Pugh Residence Hall. He is a Professional Engineer with 30 years of project management and engineering experience. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University, and has been a licensed professional engineer in Washington and Alaska.
Leigh replaces Keith Gerken, who has served as the Director of Facilities for UAS since 2000. Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services Michael Ciri remarked, “I want to thank Keith for his patience, assistance, and good humor as we sought his successor. Nathan Leigh has accepted the position and will formally transition from his current position during the last week of June, allowing Keith to transition into a well-earned retirement.”
