Date of Press Release: September 29, 2020
Anyone at the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) or in the community may submit a proposal to host a breakout session. This year, we're soliciting pre-recorded video content so that attendees can watch sessions at times that are convenient for them, allowing for more flexibility with bandwidth, making this virtual event more accessible to all.
Session proposals are now being accepted. The deadline to submit is October 9, 2020. The review process is anticipated to be complete by October 20, 2020.
Live breakout sessions via Zoom will be scheduled for 50 minute increments. Pre-recorded content may range from 20 minutes to 75 minutes in length. Participants are encouraged to submit pre-recorded video (or audio) and/or host a live session to allow for discussion or Q&A.
The 5th Annual Power & Privilege Symposium is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2020. The Symposium will be entirely virtual, free and open to the public. Keynote speakers will include Hinaleimoana Wong-Kalu & Haley Moss.
The Power & Privilege Symposium is designed as an engaging and thought-provoking gathering that advances learning and disseminates knowledge about pressing societal issues in a setting supportive of free inquiry and discussion.
