Academic Life Coaching involves a collaborative approach to support your academic and personal development. As your coach, I will help you set goals, overcome barriers, and connect with university resources.

The program was created thanks to a grant that helped me get specialized training in Academic Life Coaching for college students.

You should meet with your coach once every two to three weeks. The first meeting can be up to 60 minutes, and subsequent meetings will range from 30 to 60 minutes.

Topics include balancing work and school, managing study systems, overcoming financial stress, and building a support network, among others.

Your coach will help you create a plan to connect with the Career Services Manager, who can assist with finding a job or internship related to your field.

Advising primarily focuses on academic course selection, academic policy and procedure, and degree requirements. Coaching offers holistic, personalized support for both academic and personal development.

Counseling addresses mental health and emotional challenges. Coaching compliments counseling, but does not substitute for it. Coaching is proactive, focusing on goal-setting and overcoming barriers.
