Biography

Arielle participates in Indigenous-led research that investigate the effects of traditional management techniques and climate change on cultural resource systems. Projects include: (1) oak ecosystem dynamics and cultural fire with a focus on frugivorous invertebrate community composition in acorns, plant community composition, and cultural species diversity; (2) environmental factors associated with changes in cultural intertidal algal communities and food webs; and (3) marine mammal subsistence practices as a focal point for Indigenous Science education. Further, support work assessing changes in cultural identity development and STEAM expectancy when centering Indigenous Science in STEAM education.
