Biography

Dr. Angela Lunda serves as Dean of the University of Alaska Southeast School of Education. With nearly 40 years of experience in secondary and post-secondary education, she has dedicated her career to preparing educators and strengthening educational opportunities across Alaska. Since joining UAS in 2014, Dr. Lunda has distinguished herself as a teacher-scholar and educational leader, securing National Science Foundation grants focused on environmental and cultural identity in young children. Under her leadership, the School of Education continues to advance innovative programs, including the newly approved Master of Arts in Teaching in Indigenous Languages, designed to address the critical need for certified Indigenous language educators throughout Alaska.
