Biography

In the role of CFAO, Beverley is responsible for all aspects of the School of Arts & Sciences finance, budget, and administrative operations, including both annual and long-term financial commitments. She oversees all administrative and technical staff, and is the primary point of contact for all personnel-related matters within the School. Beverley is honored to be part of the educational community at UAS, as well as grateful to be able to live and work on the unceded territories of the Áakʼw Ḵwáan, Taantʼá Ḵwáan, and Sheet'ká Ḵwáan on Lingít Aaní, also known as Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka Alaska, adjacent to the ancestral home of the X̱aadas and Ts’msyen peoples.

Beverley comes to UAS with more than 25 years of progressive leadership in the non-profit and public sector in Los Angeles, a community she calls home. Prior to joining UAS, she was the assistant director of the UCLA Labor Occupational Safety and Health research unit within the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE). She previously served on the executive leadership teams at SAJE (Strategic Actions for a Just Economy) where she led all fundraising and development operations in the role of Development Director. Following that, she served as Director of Operations at the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust. Her areas of expertise include finance, research administration, human resources, development, communications, administration.

She holds an MBA from the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University as well as a Master’s certificate in leadership from the Drucker School. She also has a BSc. in business administration from Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles.

A founding member of Eastside Los Angeles NetSquared, Beverley was on the production team of the LA Idea Project, and served as social media manager for Cesar’s Last Fast, a 2014 Sundance feature documentary. She recently joined the board of the UAS Alumni & Friends Association, and is eager to work with the team on ways to engage current and future UAS alums.
