Biography

Elizabeth Cornejo, M.Sc., is University of Alaska Southeast’s Executive Director for Community Relations and Strategic Partnerships. In this role, she also serves as the public information officer for UAS.

Elizabeth has worked in Southeast Alaska earth science, community relations, educational outreach, and economic development since 2007. Before coming to University of Alaska Southeast, Elizabeth worked in the international mineral exploration sector as a corporate vice president, earth scientist, and community relations specialist. Elizabeth also worked as a high school substitute teacher, a volunteer board member for several Alaska organizations, and deputy public information officer for the Haines Borough Emergency Operations Center. Elizabeth is passionate about supporting and connecting student and community goals. Outside of the office, she enjoys family, outdoor adventures, painting, and being a lifelong learner.

Elizabeth holds a B.Sc.(Hons.) in Geology and an M.Sc. in Earth Science from Carleton University in Canada.
