Biography
Jacqueline serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Alaska Native Program and the PITAAS (Preparing Indigenous Teachers and Administrators for Alaska’s Schools) Director at the University of Alaska Southeast, working closely with programs at UAS that support and perpetuate the values and traditions of the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian peoples of this land. Prior to this role, she was an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education with the University of Alaska, Fairbanks since 2011. Ms. Tagaban served as the PITAAS Director from 2007-2011 as well and is happy to be back with the program and working closely with the School of Education at UAS.
Ms. Tagaban is Tlingit, Eagle Moiety from the Kaagwaantaan clan. Her family originates from Sitka, Alaska from the Box House. Her and her husband Al live in Juneau and have two grown children, Austin and Sierra.
