Jill Hanson

After owning and managing a downtown Sitka retail business with her sister for eighteen years, Jill Hanson took a position with UAS Sitka Campus in 2002 managing continuing education programs. Over the years she has transitioned through various administrative positions before becoming Assistant Director overseeing campus business operations and special projects. Jill served as interim campus director for a year (2017-18) and has represented UAS in UNAD Adjunct collective bargaining negotiations (2017, 2022-23, 2025).

A move with her family, brought Jill to Sitka in 1972 when her step father was hired as the Sitka Community College Campus Director. Similarly, her husband's family came to Sitka in 1963 when his dad was hired as a science teacher at the BIA boarding school (now Mount Edgecumbe High School). Jill and Kim raised two children in Sitka and now enjoy traveling to meet up with family members around the world.
