Biography

James is the author of Recovery Writing, a mix of memoir and research that explores the writing and healing practices of addicts in recovery. He is co-author of Beyond Craft: An Anti-Handbook for Creative Writers from Bloomsbury Academic. James co-founded the Creative Writing Studies Organization and Journal of Creative Writing Studies. He has an active research interest in the areas of imagination and creativity.
