Kirk Scott

After studying Petroleum Engineering and Chemistry; Kirk chose a career in finance, trading on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange then founding a financial futures brokerage firm.  After achieving national recognition for his trading ability he decided to start a maritime career.  From humble beginnings as a deckhand on commercial fishing vessels to holding a Masters license of which fewer than ten in the history of the US Coast Guard have ever been issued, for unlimited tonnage sailing vessels.

 After several years of living and working internationally in executive shoreside positions, he decided to return to the maritime industry and teach deck officer license classes in Ketchikan.  According to him, the first stop in exploring the Pacific basin, by boat.
