Nona Dimond

Nona comes to UAS, School of Education with a diverse background of work experience, both professionally and through her volunteer work. Her time serving at both the Alaska State Department of Education and working for the Alaska State Senate Education Committee Chair will serve her well at the School of Education, as she interacts with teaching professionals and those who are interested in entering the teaching profession.

When not working, Nona generously volunteers her time with many nonprofit organizations, both within and outside of the Juneau community. She has spent many winters coaching Juneau’s finest young alpine skiers to become better ski racers through the Juneau Ski Club and has contributed to organizing some of the finest 4th of July celebrations with the Douglas 4th of July Committee.

She enjoys spending time outside in nature with her dog, Johnny Wasabi, and tries to go on at least one walk every day. She finds pleasure in gardening, even if it’s only tending to houseplants in the wintertime. If you need anything organized, Nona is your person! Her favorite people are her son and her wife, who she lives with at home in Juneau. Nona is currently pursuing higher education in pursuit of a degree in Behavioral Health Sciences.
