Biography

Born and raised in Juneau, Riley completed her Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from UAS in 2022 while also working for the USDA Forest Service as a program coordinator on the Southeast Alaska Sustainability Strategy (SASS) and land management teams. Shortly after graduating, she continued her work with the Forest Service as a Special Uses Permit Administrator and, late 2024, transitioned to the Alaska Region Public Affairs team as a Publications Specialist.

Throughout her career, she has most enjoyed building strong partnerships with organizations across Southeast Alaska, traveling in the field for land inspections, and facilitating conversations between management agencies and Alaskans working to make our home a better place. Joining the Arts and Sciences team in June 2025, Riley brings her problem solving, forward thinking, and diverse experiences to UAS.

In her free time, she enjoys gardening, berry picking, hiking, and boating with her husband, Michael, daughter Eddy, and  malamute pup Nukka.
