Biography

My scholarship critically examines the invisible human infrastructure of capitalism with a focus on frontiers of labour exploitation. I earned a PhD in Geography from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2020, where my doctoral research showed how Burmese refugee labour underpinned economic growth in Denver and Kuala Lumpur. Prior to joining the faculty at UAS, I taught at the CU Boulder Center for Asian Studies and conducted research as an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at Indiana University Bloomington and as a Global Shifts Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Pennsylvania. My newest research projects examine the changing landscape of im/migrant labour in the commercial ski industry and the politics of geothermal development in indigenous Indonesian uplands.
