When applying for Housing, residents will be asked to select a meal plan. Family residents are not required to request a meal plan, but will be presented with an option to opt-in. Any meal plans you are eligible for will be presented to you.  Meal Plan changes cannot be made after the August 10 for Fall and December 15 for Spring.

Private rooms are not guaranteed until the first day of classes on each semester and private room charges will be assigned at that time.

After move-in, if vacancies occur in shared occupancy bedrooms due to the withdrawal, relocation, or no-show of an assigned student, the remaining resident has the following options:

  • Pay the additional single supplement fee necessary to occupy the room for the remainder of the semester as a private room.
  • Request a room placement with someone who currently has no roommate.
  • Allow Student Housing to assign a new resident to the room or agree to move to another room that has only one occupant.

Scholarships

UAS is proud to provide a scholarship program to eligible undergraduate students to assist in housing costs: the Chancellor's Award.

This merit-based scholarship is awarded to new full-time students (whether first-time students or transfers) based upon academic achievement. The award covers partial costs of on-campus housing for a new student's first year at UAS. Incoming students with a 3.5 or higher GPA are eligible once their FAFSA has been completed. Awards are applied to student accounts automatically with no additional application required.

Please be aware that if your housing is covered by third-party funding, this award will be removed.
