Welcome to The Learning Center!

The Learning Center (LC) is the Math and Science equivalent of an art studio. Here students have all the tools they need to work on homework, complete projects, and collaborate with fellow students. We even have professional and student tutors for Mathematics ready to assist you. Each year, hundreds of students make the LC their center of academic life, and we hope to see you too.

It is our philosophy that students learn best when they study together; some of the best exchanges of ideas and insight occur in peer-driven settings. That's why we employ over 20 talented students to offer their insight, support, and tips on studying. Tutors are currently available for Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, Spanish, and Statistics. Come by the Learning Center or call us to find out specific hours for subject tutors.

Study With Us

If you thought the Learning Center (LC) was only for tutoring, think again. The LC is a great place to do coursework whether or not you want to work with a tutor.  We provide many other resources — computers, printers, current textbooks, calculators, whiteboards, and all the scratch paper you could ever want — to help you get your work done.  If you want to work with someone, the Learning Center is a great place to find other motivated people working on similar projects.  If you're a distance student or simply cannot visit us in person, you can take advantage of some online services to help you study. Click the link to find out more.

The Learning Center operates a proctoring facility called The Testing Center, where students and members of the community can take exams from distance courses, national organizations, and even UAS classes. Placement tests are also available at the testing center. No appointment required!

ATTENTION: During Testing Center closures, library staff may be available to proctor English and CIS placement tests.  Please call ahead to set up an appointment: 796-6502 or 796-6300.  The ALEKS Math placement test can be taken online from anywhere.  See the Testing Center page for details.
