Six Year Course Sequence

The UAS Six-Year Course Sequence is central to student success. It provides a guide to faculty, staff, and university leadership for planning purposes—ensuring that courses emanating from the Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka campuses are available on a regular and predictable basis.*

The Course Sequence is reviewed at least annually by Deans, faculty, department/program chairs, and campus directors. Deans of each school at UAS review and approve changes, and they are ultimately responsible for ensuring that the Course Sequence is up-to-date. They consult with other schools and campuses as needed when changes could impact more than one program.

Sequence Changes

While the Course Sequence is an important guide, it is also subject to change.* Some flexibility is necessary in order to respond to new program needs, changes in student demand, special opportunities, and other factors. Faculty and staff who would like to suggest changes in the Course Sequence should work through their Dean’s office, using the following form.

For more information contact the UAS Provost’s Office: 796-6486 (uas.provost@alaska.edu).

Guidelines for students: Students should see an advisor frequently to receive individualized, detailed course planning assistance.
