Specialized Accreditation

The University of Alaska Southeast was the first institution in Alaska to receive national accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Based on the Baldrige Education Criteria for Performance Excellence, this prestigious network offers a multitude of benefits to our students. Evaluated according to aspects of leadership, strategic planning, stakeholder relationships, quality of academic programs, faculty credentials, and educational support, we are proud to provide this accreditation to our students.

SHRM Academically Aligned

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) recognizes the University of Alaska Southeast as an academic partner and a top choice for students seeking a career in human resources. Students have the opportunity to earn their SHRM-CP credential, providing a competitive advantage in the job market.

A Network of Professional Connection

Business students at UAS are the future industry leaders of Southeast Alaska. The connections you make here, not only in the business programs but across all our majors and fields of study, will be your professional connections when you move into the workforce.

Education for Alaska’s Future

We consider sustainable business ethics as they relate to Southeast Alaska, creating a program that is informed by and translates into our region’s specific industries. With smaller class sizes, our professors are able to provide one-on-one support to students.

If you work or want to work in commercial fishing, tourism, forestry, or government, our degree programs will make a difference. Find the right role for your future and Alaska’s future.

Partnerships in Our Community

Faculty work closely with key organizations in our communities to facilitate sustainable business practices and to share expert resources. Examples of this include Path2Prosperity which UAS has been involved with since its inception in 2013, the annual JEDC Innovation Summit, and the MPA Lecture Series.
