Alaska Law Enforcement Training Academy

The Alaska Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALET) is offered by the Alaska Department of Public Safety in cooperation with the University of Alaska Southeast Sitka Campus. The ALET program meets training requirements of the Alaska Police Standards Council for employment as Alaska State Troopers, municipal police officers, fire marshals, airport safety officers, and numerous other sworn law enforcement positions within the state of Alaska.

Hecla Mine Mechanic Scholarship

Are you ready for a career in mining? Hecla Greens Creek wants you!

Through generous donations made by Hecla Greens Creek Mine, 6 students are selected to receive scholarship funding in support of their pursuit of education in Mine Mechanics and the chance for a full-time position upon graduation at Hecla Greens Creek. On average, wages paid to workers at Alaska’s operating mines (not including exploration or development projects) is $130,000* according to a 2021 report released by the McKinley Research Group.  So don't wait, the time to apply for this funding is now as spots will fill fast.
