Egan Library offers a variety of Windows 10 workstations with widescreen monitors. Student (Academic) Workstations feature a full suite of academic software. Wi-Fi access is widely available on UAS campuses (open:UAS Guest, secure:UAS). 

  • Eleven UA Student Workstations (1 with dual-monitors).
  • Two Laptop Workstations (monitor only) for connecting a laptop (HDMI).
  • Four Timed Internet Workstations (1 hour sessions, requires login with library card/student ID#/or guest pass).
  • Five Express Internet Workstations (15 min honor system time limit, no login).
  • The Learning Center and Writing Center offer additional Student Workstations.    
  • Windows 10 laptops and other equipment are available for 24 hour checkout for UAS students.
  • Print, Scan, Copy: Black and white printing is avaialble from personal laptops and library workstations. Scan to email (free) and copy ($0.10/copy) services are availabl.  

Print

Print/Scan/Copy services are located on the main level (2nd floor) of the Egan Library.

Egan Library offers limited free student printing. Black and white, duplex only (as of Fall 2024). Following the recent closure if Ink Labs (former printing vendor), Egan Library printing services will be limited while we explore options. During this transition:

  • Please be mindful of your printing quantities and content.
  • Print jobs will be publicly visible to others on/near the printer until claimed.
  • Confirm and claim your print jobs promptly.

Printing by IP Address

The Egan Library Black & White printer is available to print from the any Virtual workstation or personal device. To access the library printer you must connect to the UAS wifi network (not UAS Guest) on campus (active username and password required).

Windows 11

  1. If you're on a personal machine, connect to the UAS wifi network (not Guest)
  2. From the Start menu or the Windows Search field, type "printers".
  3. Select Printers & scanners.
  4. In the Add a printer or scanner field, click the Add device button.
  5. In "The printer that I want isn't listed" field, click the "Add manually" link (this may take several seconds to appear).
  6. Select Add a printer using an IP address or hostname, then click Next.
  7. Select TCP/IP Device from the dropdown list. In the Hostname or IP address field, enter 10.196.222.25, then click Next
    • When prompted, select the HP Universal Printing PCL driver.
    • Click Next until the printer is added.

If the steps above do not work for you on a Windows computer we recommend downloading and running the HP Universal Print Driver Installer below. It will add the correct driver and then walk you through the process outlined above to add a printer via IP.

Mac

  1. If you're on a personal machine, connect to the UAS wifi network (not Guest)
  2. Open the Apple menuApple Icon.
  3. Access System Preferences.
  4. Select Printers & Scanners.
  5. Click on the plus sign[+] to add a printer.
  6. Click on the IP button.
  7. In the Address field, enter 10.196.222.25
  8. In the Protocol field, select Generic PostScript Printer (based on manufacturer and model).
    1. If desired, change the Name field to be an easy name for the printer.
    2. Click Add.
  9. If prompted, enter your login information, putting "UA\" before your username.
    • If you aren't prompted for login info, check your security settings. Some internet security software blocks this type of connection.
  10. When adding is complete, you will see the printer queue monitor.

Scan

Several scanning options are available. There is a public access scanner/copier (Konica-Minolta) near the Circulation Desk.

  • Supports color scanning, duplex scanning, has a document feeder for multiple page jobs and outputs PDF or TIFF formats to email.

Copy

A self-service black & white copier is located on the main level by the Circulation Desk ($.10 per page). The copier accepts bills ($1, $5, $10) and coins.
