What is Watermark?
Watermark is an assessment system which is used by many institutions. With Watermark, the UAS School of Education is able to effectively measure outcome-based learning goals and provide students with a professional portfolio system.
Why do I need to use Watermark?
We are required by our accrediting bodies (CAEP) to maintain assessment systems to review the quality of our programs and students’ performance. In order to grant degrees and enroll students, we must maintain accreditation.
The Watermark Student Learning & Licensure (SL&L) account will allow students to develop multiple, customized professional and personal portfolios containing a variety of file types (audio, video, images, etc.) for students to track the growth and development of specific skill sets. Additionally, students can document all service learning, internship, and field experiences outside the classroom.
How much does Watermark cost?
There is no out-of-pocket cost to you to use the Watermark SL&L resource.

Mentor/Host Teacher Role
UAS is continuously working to improve the quality of our programs and assessment procedures. As part of this process, we use Watermark to collect assessments from instructors, students, and cooperating mentor teachers. Host teachers do not need to buy a Watermark subscription.
Once a student's host teacher has been identified, the Watermark coordinator will set up their SL&L account. If the student's host teacher does not already have a Watermark account, they will receive an email at their school district address from support@watermarkinsights.com with their username and a temporary password. Students that cannot remember their previous login credentials should go to the Watermark website. A student's username will always be their official university email address they signed up with.
To recover a username:
- Select Forget Password.
- Enter an email address (students should use their university email address, host teachers should use their school district address).
- Press Send Link.
- Follow the prompts in the email you receive to reset a password.
For additional assistance recovering a username, please log in to support.watermarkinsights.com. First create a free account that is separate from your Watermark login. Once logged in, you can submit a request from the upper right-hand corner or use the free chat support via the chat bubble in the lower left-hand corner.
